The worst zit I ever had was actually not a zit. It was a cyst that I may have had for as long as a year before I noticed it.
My right ear itched like crazy for about a month. Then I noticed a little bump which itched and was sore. I tried putting over the counter acne medicine in it. I don't reccomend it, it burned so bad it brought tears to my eyes and the medicine didnt do anything.
I could see what looked like a big black hole  on top of the little mound in the bottom of the opening of my ear canal when I used a hand mirror to look in it. But, I wasn't dexterous enough to hold a mirror with one hand and pop it with the other.
I tried a lot. But, I couldn't find anyone to help me pop it. So  couple of weeks later one of my co-workers noticed and offered to pop it with cotter pins. It was very painful. She got some thick white stringy pus out. And claimed it popped. I still felt like there was lots more in there. We were busy at work and I didnt have the time to sit and be tortured any longer. So another week goes by. And my cyst seemed to be angry that I tried to eraticate it so it grew to the size of half of my ear canal and took a deep red color.
At our fourth of July party I meet my future sister in law. She is an absolute zit fanatic. She tried to pop it. OMG worst pain ever. Her technique was probably lacking because all she did was make me bleed by stabbing me with a pin and she got NOTHING OUT. So frustrating. I knew if I could get my hands in there I could have that little bugger exploding.
I give up and I schedule a doctors appointment. In the two days I wait to be seen it swells to the point that it fills my ear canal and there is now a lump where my ear meets my neck. If I push under my ear I could make a big while head show on the top of my mountain of a cyst. Its ready to blow. I tried so hard to pop it myself the last night before my doctors appointment. But i can only push underneath and on one side.  And it refuses adamantly to pop.
So I go to the doctors office. The medical assistant looks at my ear and chides me for not coming in sooner. The doctor comes in and looks at it. She has me lay down and presses on it. I almost hit the ceiling it hurt so bad. The pain was bright and I swear I saw rainbows and spots and everything else. She comes back with my friend the anesetic, a huge needle and a scaple. Also a couple nurses or medical assistat come in  to watch. They numb it. She stabs it with the needle and tries pushing on my ear. Nothing comes out. I advise her of the spot under my ear. There is a ripple feeling in the skin under my ear, and in my ear canal. Then I hear this kissing noise. The entire room goes eww. wow and oh my god. She presses again and the same kissing noise happens. They filled an entire kidney shaped bed pan yellowish white pus and gore from my ear. It just kept oozing and gushing. I had a really had taste in my mouth too.  It was disgusting. But I felt so much better.
I wish I would of had a camera.
From time to time, my right ear itches where it used to be. Sometimes if I enlist the hubby to press on either side of the scar with a needle I get this hard piece of ear wax or sebum that is shaped exactly like a popcorn kernel out. 

Hows that for nasty? 

 

That is a five star story if I ever heard one!  Excellent description of what the pain felt like, yikes!  If that had been caught on tape, it would have won the pus mongers equivelent of an oscar.

oh those ear zits! I love to squeeze 'em but I hate to have 'em. They are so difficult to get to. You need a mirror and 4 hands-lol. But relief is sweet once it's out. My problem is that once it's out I keep squeezing to make sure it's all gone. Same with ear wax,I hate when I know there is a glob of it that I can't get to-

Great story!  Ear zits are horrible because you can't see them to handle yourself. I did like the part where you helpfully told the doc to press the spot behind your ear!  

You probably had the horrible taste in your mouth because the ear canal was involved. It's all kind of connected. 

Oh, the ear ones!  I have never been able to pop one of those.  And, how's that for gross?  Really good-ha!
Are you a writer?  Your description of the pain is very unusual and it's so true.  Great job with that, imo.  One day I'll try to write the embarrassing zit story from my pre-teen years (lucky me...long adolescence).
