Oh heck yes! I want to put them all in a little jar (or biggie jar!) so when I'm stressed I can take one out and squeeze the dickens out of it. Maybe we need to get some of those "practice" turkey legs the med students use that come complete with realistic cysts. I bet we could do almost as good a jo as the students in removing cysts or I&D of abscesses, dontcha think?
I know exactly what you mean, Mother and Halph. When I see a video of a intact cyst being remove I always think to myself, "Oh gawd! Hope they cut it open or smush the dang thing afterwards!"
I do have a remedy for when I HAVE to pop something (ok, that came out wrong *winks*) or to just relieve some stress... bubble wrap! I always keep some handy at home and at the office.
:)
Oh yes, I remember it well--2 years ago, my birthday, May 16th--a present from my youngest son. I got to view the best procedure--my son had a huge cyst removed from the left side of his face. (He asked for permission to have his mom view the procedure--he arranged this for ME!) The minor surgery was performed in the hospital by a young surgeon in the same day surgery clinic. I was in my element. The surgeon allowed me to scrub up, put on a mask and view looking over his shoulder. The cyst was 4 inches long, white, puffy. bloated, like the shape of a slug. He removed this so carefully and set it on the stainless steel tray and neatly placed his scalpel on top of it. Like, As if to say, "I slay you dragon inside the face." This was one big slug of junk, pure white and just as my hand was ready to pick to the blade and stab it, the OR nurse, said,"OH NO, don't do that!" "Why not?" I ask? (Still not putting down the scalpel, I am fairly assertive but I have boundaries.) Because, she sternly states "we will be here all day picking that junk up off the walls and our scrubs and the smell will kill us." The surgeon looks up and tells me, I made that mistake once as I love doing these types of surgery's and I can still remember the smell. He went on to state that the "slug" he removed was deep and big and challenging. Not life-threatening but rather relaxing and fun. He said they call me Doc Zit Cyst Junk. I wonder if he views this site? I still regret not going for that thing and stabbing it.
oh god suzie, if only you would could have wrapped it in something and took it home with you so sad...
I am way jealous, Suz! In order for me to come near that type of experience, I'd first have to have children - and I think the old clock is ticking against me on that matter. Hmm, maybe I could foster some older children? But I don't think that Child Services would know what do with an application that stated "Prefer children with major acne, sebaceous cysts, or other pus related skin conditions"...
Note: I am being lighthearted in those statements. In reality, I take the matter of children in state custody very seriously and many years ago certified as a foster home. However, other issues prevent me from being able to open my heart and home right now. :)
Anyways, Suzie, maybe you should change your screen name to "Doc Zit". I think its very fitting! lol
OMG I love Doc Zit! how appropriate! Well Halph, If you do ever get to open your home again I think you should take teens with zits! bless their little hearts, a bad complexion makes them feel so bad. My son had a horrible complexion from the time he was 12 until about 16. Doc (Destry) is 17 now and his face and back cleared up miraculously! I mean I had that boy to the doctor, derm abrasion all the best applications and nothing would help. It hurt my heart, he was so embarrassed. Time was the only healer. Now hes knock down gorgeous (always was) You can't tell themthat though. I'm rambling on now, Irony in that I never could bring myself to mash my son's zits aint that just too much!
