Oh goodness you know the Harris family? I cannot imagine their pain right now. I am a big fan of the show, and Phil was just wonderful. I actually cried when I heard he passed away, which seems a bit silly, not actually knowing him. But I felt like I did, and he was just so real and likeable. I am just so heartbroken for Josh and Jake, they must be devastated. He seemed to be doing so well, 53 is just too young to pass away.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I know who you are talking about now! Oh please accept my sympathies for your father as well. I lost mom first then daddy. It's hard no matter what age you are! The best thing you can tell someone who lost their parent IS I've been there and I understand or simply I'm sorry and I care. Just remember what comforted you when you lost your dad and say that to them. What a loss for the whole world to lose a man who taught us so much about how fishing works in very difficult surroundings!

My husband is a huge fan of that show. Phil Harris was so young, but what a life he led! Always best to remember the good times and know that we all become orphans. Life's most difficult lesson to learn.

I loved Capt. Phil Harris. I am so very sad he is gone. I will keep the Harris family in my prayers. I pray that once Josh and jake get through this that the Cornelia Marie goes out again but it will not be the same seeing her with a different captain.

Nothing better than a gut-wrenching, life-on-the-line marathon of men who risk their lives for all-you-can-eat buffets in Vegas and on cruiseships. My husband will be thrilled.
