I have a painful, hard bump under my lip about the size of a marble. It doesn't have a head... I need to know what it is and whether it is advisable to attempt to pop it or not.

You should go to the doctor to have it checked out.
With that said: whether you go to the doctor or if you cut it yourself please have someone video it so you can post it for us.
thanks
oh it could be one of those saliva gland blockages, there is a video here of it. i will try to find it and get back to ya. still you should see a doc first
It could be what is called a mucocele, which is what the oozing mouthh zit is. I do also recommend seeing your PCP - Primary Care Physician. There are so many nerves in the face and around the mouth, it isn't a place to fool around with. Not being able to see it, there is also a chance of it being a sebaceous cyst, even though that is a rare spot for them. Or an abscess caused by a dental problem. But - start with your doctor. If you don't have one, or lack insurance, check your area for free or sliding scale clinics.
Hope this helps!

Best advice, given above. Keep in mind, if in question, go to a professional. Nothing lost, then you may be able to go home and have a great zit gittin' time without having to worry about agitating a nerve, resulting in an unwanted facial twitch!!
