   Two months ago I lost my best friend Kiki. She was a light siamese and just about the best cat ever. It's hard to loose a friend and I know others on this site have gone through the same thing.

   My daughter is 19 and ready to fly the coop so I went out and bought a new kitten and I picked him up Sunday. He is a Bengal and completely crazy. I named him Octavian but Tavi for short. yeah yeah I know I spent a lot of money on him but most on vet fees. But I am a Bob Barker kinda gal and he is already neutered. He drives me crazy and now is trying to type this post!

   After loosing Kiki I thought I wouldn't get another pet but now I can't believe how much I love him in such a short time. He makes me laugh a LOT. Something I have not done for awhile!

   So let's talk pets...we started doing this in another post and it was fun and we got to learn more about each other. Dogs Cats Snakes, Rabbits whatever their all invited.

   Who is your best friend? I don't know if we can post pics but maybe someone can answer that!

   I'm so sorry about Kiki but I'm glad you have Tavi now! Nothing like a puppy or kitten to lift your spirits!
   I have always had a pet. My first personal pet was a calico cat I named Mixie. From there we've had an assortment of hamsters, rats, cats, and dogs.
   Right now my best fur friend is my 4 pound Yorkie, Pippin. She is so precious to me. I never thought I could afford a Yorkie but I found a breeder who wasn't trying to gouge people. She is very smart. I used to hide her "duckie" squeak toy from her then she started to hide it from ME so I would find it. She is very smart like most terriers.
   I don't know what I would do without her. She is very protective and when I am not feeling well she won't let anyone touch me without letting them know she is there!
   I apologize... I usually write better than this but this is one of those nights I'm not feeling so whippy, so I'll wrap it up until another time when I can be witty and more interesting.
   I do share the love others have for their pets. I don't understand how people can be cruel to other living things. It's inconceivable.
   I look forward to hearing about other's pets.

   Dripper, I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved tabby Cinnamon several months ago. While I was going through chemo, I had to spend a lot of time in bed. She would lay next to me and put her head on my hand and purr. She really helped me through a rough time. I was just devastated when she had a heart attack.

   We decided to go to an animal rescue shelter to get a kitten. While looking at all of the adorable kittens, a large (but very skinny) orange tabby kept sticking his paw out of the cage and "talking" to my 20 year old son. We were told he had been dumped in a parking lot, had a broken tail and would just sit in the back of the cage. This big guy kept swatting at my son, so we took him out of the cage and it was an instant bond, so we brought Matthias home. We also got a 8 week old kitten who is almost a tortie, but mostly a calico. She's a wild woman!

   We have 2 other female cats and consequently there are toys and several small squishy balls stashed around the house. One day Matthias came to me with a ball in his mouth and dropped it at my feet. We also have 2 dogs - a border collie and a golden mix - that love to play fetch and thought, what the heck, I'll throw the ball. I was blown away - Matthias ran after the ball and brought it back and dropped it at my feet! I've had lots of cats & dogs through the years (George Carlin did a routine how life is a series of dogs) but never have had a cat play fetch!

   As hard as it is to lose them, I would not want to be without my furry friends!

   Thank you both Lil and Pim for your sympathies but too many people suffer with the loss of a great pet and this it is not the time for that!!!! We have to be happy with what we have so tell me your stories...please.

   Here's a little story about my kitten, he barks, plays fetch and loves to jump in the bath with me...we still working on the sit thing though.... lol.

   dang! I can tell it has been two days since I've had my Cymbalta cuz I am crying buckets here! lilcysta, that has to be one of the saddest stories I've ever heard! I'm sorry for your loss but it sounds like you have a great fur family there and you gave a home to a cat that might have been put down just because no one wanted him! God bless you!
   We had an unusual orange and white cat named Henry by my son. He just walked up to us one day and adopted us! Can you believe that cat never ONCE used the bathroom in the house or in a litter box. He would scratch on the door to go outside! He wasn't particularly playful, but he was a tom cat in the real sense of the word. He "owned" our neighborhood with such a cat swagger as you have never seen and bore so many drains from abscesses and fight wounds.
   We loved Henry and he was very old when he got so sick and we had to put him down. He is dear to all our hearts to this day. My extended family of sisters, in-laws, and friends all loved him, too.
   I have to quit now and take that Cymbalta or my recliner is going to float away! Bless you with these stories! I love them as much as I love the zits for which this site is named. God bless you all. :)

   lol! This s so great, as it brings back fond memories of my cat Miss Kitty. We had her for 14 years, and she was just 3 days old when we got her, as her mama had been hit by a car. She was in a cat carrier with all the other kittens, and we just picked one, as they were all covered with feces, and they just needed help, unfortunately, we could only take one. We carried her home wrapped in a towel, and spent the next few weeks nursing her every 3 hours, rubbing her bottom, a mama cats do to help stimulate them, let's just say, it wasn't easy. Miss Kitty grew into a horror. She would actually hold people hostage in a hallway, doing "sideways kitty" as we liked to call it. She would intimidate them by bouncing sideways at them. I've never laughed so hard as when I saw my mother stuck in the bathroom, too scared to walk by this tiny cat, as she never grew to be very large. She was great fun up until we had to put her to sleep because she was so sick, just a few months ago. I neve talked about it here, as it was just too much. But the "fetch" thing caught my eye. Miss kitty LOVED to play fetch with pony tail holders. Not only did she like to play fetch with them, but she loved to find them and stash them in her food bowl. There were plenty of times when I am sure that my hair smelled like dry cat food, because my favorite pony tail holder was found in her food bowl. She was so funny with them, she would play with them for hours, just like it was the best cat toy ever made. It was really cool, and I've never heard of another cat doing that until now!

   First sorry lilcysta...I must have posted at the same time as I did not see your post. I did not mean to exclude you. Animals I think are miracle workers and come to us for a reason. OK I'm not that religious or anything but do believe in what comes around.... and so on.

   I once had a Jack Russel terrorist lol, now that was an experience. He started out as a little ankle biter and turned into a husband eating revolutionary. He didn't last long, but then neither did my X.lol Funny tho.... he was teddy bear with me and my kids and my cat at the time!

   God I was without the internet for a week and I had SERIOUS withdrawals! But life is good again.

   Inna, loved your Miss Kitty story! I have a 1 year old that does sideways kitty, too. She also does ninja kitty from time to time. They sure can be the source of a lot of fun. And now that I'm an empty nester, I really enjoy their company. And PPM, I wish I could teach my cats to go outside like Henry. I hate cleaning the litter box....

   I wake up in the middle of the night and find a squishy ball strategically placed on the bed next to me and this big orange cat staring at me! I also find balls stashed in my shoes, under the couch, you name it.

   Thanks to PPM and Dripper for your kind thoughts - I, too, choose to celebrate the good times and appreciate what's been given to me. Now I'm off to catch up on all the videos I missed this last week!
