Thank you, Gilming. And as long as you are with who you love and who loves you, I think that counts for Valentine's Day... including our furkids and furfriends!
I'm single and unattached right now so this was just another day. Would have also been my dad's 82nd birthday but he has been gone 5 years now.
But I hope each of you got to spend it with someone you love and loves you very much.
To my single popologists....I am fortunate in that I am in a good relationship, and I am even getting married to my guy later this year. UNFORTUNATELY, he develops several juicy whiteheads and, my favorite, blackheads, frequently AND WILL NOT LET ME TOUCH THEM. This is so incredibly frustrating. You don't know how hard it is to want to look into the eyes of your beloved, but you can nonetheless remain focused and entranced with the two blackheads begging to be popped on the bridge of his nose.
He usually doesn't let the whiteheads fester too long and gets rid of them himself, although in an inferior manner. But he seems to have no problem whatsoever with leaving a blackhead on his face, or neck, or wherever, to just grow and grow. His blackheads, they mock me sometimes, I'm sure of it, because they know my greedy little fingers will never be able to extricate them.
The problem is, he is bigger and stronger than me, and all my attempts at sneak popping are thwarted and he wrestles me to the ground instead. For some strange reason, he seems to think I have some sort of "problem" with my love of zit popping, and doesn't want to feed into my obsession. I appreciate the gesture, and certainly, I will admit to my OCD. But please, for the love of pete, don't make me suffer so!!!!! AAaaack!!

Tell him that a desire to groom him, including cleaning his skin of dirt, is NOT an obsession but a genetically and hormonal part of human socialization and intimacy. All animals groom each other, and he's the one with the problem with intimacy. Maybe it was not done in his family because of the incredibly close physical intimacy it engenders. But don't appeal to his reason, tell him it's part of foreplay. And I'm NOT kidding. Grooming releases oxytocin and vasopressin, natural hormones that are the very reason you're in love with him. He won't stand still for grooming? Tell him his response is abnormal; you're just doing what comes naturally to human beings. Ain't NOTHING wrong with popping zits on the man you love.
*Sigh* Sexandzitz, it sounds like your screen name explains it all, lol! I feel like I've tried everything already, but I'll give it another whirl. We're going out to a nice dinner this weekend, we'll see if that gives me an opportunity afterwards, teehee.
