My dear friends,
It's odd to think of that short phrase and realize I'm addressing a group of puz and pimple fanatics, but it is true. Some have become friends and others good comradery and for all of that I'm grateful.
My health issues come from experiences I had while enlisted as an Aircraft Mech during Desert Storm. My sweet man has been in the military 20 years this spring. It happens to coincide with our 20 year wedding anniversary.
We've seen a major shift in military policy re. injuries and emotional stresses during the twenty years we've been right in the middle of things. I wish like h*ll that the services procured for current veterans could have been made available to those that came before them. I also know that there is still so much room to grow. I pray that it becomes a system that defends the very people who defend it, if that makes sense.
Meanwhile, I have a personal opinion and a public opinion regarding those who are willing to step out in the middle of the road and stand for something greater than themselves. Family on both sides have given their life so that road runs as a river of blood for some of us. It is a river of pride and a river of tears.
Ultimately, thanks to each of you within this group who have made such a choice, to defend that which you believe in - wherever you are in the world - as I know many come together online from plenty of 'wheres' other than the US.
Be blessed,
lil z
