It used to be a standard operation when a lot of us were kids, but over the years research has shown that tonsils are important to prevent infections, so now they make people take tons of antibiotics, etc to treat tonsilitis. Tonsils are only removed if there have been a certain number of infections a year, or they are terribly abscessed. I still have mine. " Tonsil Stones!!!

- This is a friend's home video of lancing a large, deep sebaceous cyst full of pus and liquified flesh (yummy). The doctors wheren't sure whether it was a spider bite or an infection of sorts. Instead of paying to get it lanced their grandmother with prior medical experience did it at home. His brother, mother, and friend (filming) are in the background. If I was there I probably would have tossed my lunch (gagged when I first saw it on video)
