It used to be a standard operation when a lot of us were kids, but over the years research has shown that tonsils are important to prevent infections, so now they make people take tons of antibiotics, etc to treat tonsilitis.   This guy sounds very confident about what he is saying. He explains everything very clearly. The things he talks about of which I am aware -- how an isotonic solution helps for example -- he explains correctly and succinctly. So not only a nice nasty drainage but also a great instructional video.

  Local anesthesia will not work on badly infected tissue. Basically the local anesthesia is a certain shape and it will only bind to the nerves when they are a certain shape. Unfortunately infected tissue has a different pH than non infected tissue. This different pH changes the shape of the nerve cells just enough that the local anesthesia will not work. Many folks who had a root canal can attest to this. They give you a local and you are still in pain.
