Finally, it’s here! Welcome to The 2011 Top Ten Voting Booth!! The nominations have been gathered, video playback checked and rechecked, all that is left now is to cast your votes!!

Voting is very, very simple. It does rely on the honor system, I have faith that everyone will stick to the rules.

1. Each member has three votes.

2. To cast a vote, just click on the thumbs up for your top three favorite videos!

3. Please don’t thumbs down any videos. Only the thumbs up will be tallied.

Hey all y’all -

The hours counted down, the balloons have all been popped, the hangovers survived, and soon 2011 will become a memory as we move forward to greet the New Year, with all our hopes, dreams, and wishes for a better world… and some kick butt pus videos!!

Even though that giant crystal ball dropped in NYC, we can still have some fun with all those amazing videos we have ogled at the past year! Are you really excited to see a Top Ten PTZ Videos list? Have a few in mind that should be included in the voting pool?

Well, *NOW* is the time to submit your personal faves!!! So far we have some classics already lined up for inclusion with the best of the best! But we could use some more competition, fellow Popologists!!!

The time for submitting your vid nominations has been extended. Below we have listed all the URL’s that have already been sent in, so take a look before you add your own choices to avoid duplication. Names are not included with the nominations listing, but please know that your participation is appreciated!!

Nominations can be submitted by one of three ways:

1. Include the URL’s for the videos you have chosen in a comment at the bottom of this post. Please, no more than *three* nominations max per person. (Hard to choose, eh?)

2. Go to the Forum thread, and post your URL’s there, same as above.

3. For lurkers who have not registered as a member, we absolutely welcome your nominations! You can e-mail them to H.S. at halph_staph@yahoo.com.

Videos must have been first published to the Internet and to PopThatZit.com in the year 2011. Videos posted to the net prior to January 1st, 2011, but posted here at PTZ in 2011 *are not eligible* (sorry!) The list will be checked for functioning videos and for published dates prior to the Voting process.

Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 pm, Tuesday, January 2nd, 2012, and then we will have an extended Voting period, too – beginning Wednesday January 3rd until Saturday, January 7th.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S TO ALL POPOLOGISTS, EVERYWHERE!!!

Awhile ago, I asked H.S. to dust off and update a collection of some pretty old posts. Once we finally had them all cleaned up, I figured “Hey, why get all dolled up with no place to go?”

As we say good-bye to 2011, and move forward to 2012, we here at PTZ wish the entire Popologist community health, wealth, and a huge pile of new videos that will keep us laughing, drooling, and sometimes scratching our heads in confusion!

We hope you enjoy this collection of some of the videos that became the foundation for our Archives, back when I first started the site and you really had to dig to find good pus vids on the net! There are lots of Classics, a smattering of short but worthy, and perhaps a few that we really don’t know why – they’re just here so why not watch ‘em. he he

To PTZ’s crack team of Video Miner’s, you have my eternal gratitude. Without you all working hard to bring in such an amazing crop of new and diverse videos, this site would plainly suck! You guys (and gals!) are responsible for the huge number of fresh videos that were added to the Archives this past year, and believe me when I say it was way beyond impressive! Hello Fellow Popologists and all PTZ’ers;

I will make this brief, as Pick-That-Puppy will be adding his own update with much more information later on. But, alas, I could not help sharing the information I just got, so we can all send an extra special prayer her way.

From what PTP has said, Mrs. PTP has had a serious fall, breaking her hip, leading to a hip-replacement surgery. To top it off, it happened to the same side where her leg had all those blisters. But I know that she has an amazingly strong and supportive family, and this hurdle she too, will overcome. Thank goodness the medical practice of hip replacement has come a long, long way – “The Bionic Woman”, a show some of us grew up with, isn’t so far from reality!

PTP will be also putting up links to some of the x-rays, and progress photos, for anyone interested. But until then, keep those positive vibrations and white light going their way!

I know that so many of us are saying prayers and sending positive energy for the health, well-being and fortitude of Mrs. Pick_That_Puppy and family. PTP himself let me know that he posted an update on her current status (you can find it at the bottom of the comments) , and I thought it would be easiest if we moved his post to Featured for awhile, so we can have a kind of “Mrs. PTP Watch”. So, let’s rally up and let them know how much we care about our fellow Poppers!

Mrs.Pick_That_Puppy just had a living donor liver transplant from our great nephew Saint Daniel on 5/23/11.
After the operation, her leg swelled up and a ton of blisters popped up. Some with blood, some with water, some with other goo.
Do you think Mrs. PTP would let me pop any of them for your viewing pleasure?

Hi Popologists, New Popheads, and most especially New Miners/Posters!

Given the current backlog of video submissions, and the fact that we have quite a few new posters who are very excited and posting a lot, I thought I’d better take some time out and get this together. Hopefully this will help alleviate the bottleneck and we can get things cleaned up so newer videos get posted to the Main page faster.

I am going to preface this by saying none of this is negatively directed at anyone!!!! The enthusiasm exhibited by some of our newer posters and newer members (we are constantly growing in our once little community!!!) is incredibly appreciated, but what is needed are complete submissions in order to get things smoothed out. I am hoping this will be quick, simple and easy to follow.

I am asking that anyone who currently has incomplete submissions in the “hopper” aka Pending, that you please go back and edit them to completion. Because of the immense number of posts Pending, in cases of multiple submission on a particular video, the first completed submission will be the one published to the Main Page. This is not meant to point fingers *at all*, but having to complete each submission myself on top of the sections staff only must fill in, well – add it all up and you get 92+ Pending videos! ;P

Also, until the “hopper” is back to a normal state (10 or less Pending) I am asking that posters limit the number of posts per day to 2. If everyone begins using completed forms, you should easily be able to see if someone has already submitted a video, saving you from duplicating effort. Plus, it should help hone your poster “Sorting” talent, bringing only the finest gems to the PTZ community!

If after reading this, you have any questions, please let me know. But I think you’ll find this very straightforward. Hey, its got pictures!!! Tee hee

How to Submit a Video

First – if the video you wish to submit is one you filmed, and you have *not* previously posted it to YouTube, then contact Emilbus20, owner and coordinator of Exclusive Material. You can do that by >>>CLICKING HERE<<<

1. To get to the Submission Form, >>>CLICK HERE<<< (unless you already know how to navigate there. I have a slightly different Nav Bar, so this should avoid confusion)

2. What information you need in order to submit a video: The URL, the Original Name, the username of the Original Poster, the date it was first posted, the name of the site you got the video from.

3. Here is what you do with that info! Click on each picture for the Full Sized Version (or haul out your Granny readin’ glasses, I have mine!!!)

4. Categories and Tags

People tend to stumble when it comes to these two sections. However, it really is simpler than you may fear! For Categories, simply choose the one to three categories your video best fits in with – For example, a cyst on the back of the neck treated at the hospital – you might check mark “Cyst Video”, “Neck Zit Video” (because we don’t have body part categories for cysts), and also “Surgical Procedure.”

Tags must include at minimum these two items – ORIGINAL VIDEO NAME and ORIGINAL USERNAME of the poster. This assists other posters by allowing someone to quickly browse the Pending list to see if a video they are considering submitting hasn’t already been submitted by someone else. So if your YouTube video is called “Epic Huge World’s Biggest Pimple” and was put up by MissEverythingIsBiggest, then you would enter the following in the tag text box:

Epic Huge World’s Biggest Pimple, MissEverythingIsBiggest

If you are kind enough to fill in some more descriptive words, which is generally considered part of a complete submission, then remember, every tag word OR phrase needs to be separated by a comma. So… a complete Tags entry would look like this when typed in:

Epic Huge World’s Biggest Pimple, MissEverythingIsBiggest, pimple, pop, pus, leg, hairy leg, squirt, flying pus

**A small hint in choosing Tags – never use a single word like “pimple” more than three times on its own or in a phrase, like pus, squirting pus, bloody pus BUT you can use pop and popping each three times. Just a handy dandy search engine trick – if a word is overused, they might consider it spam.**

Guess what? You are DONE! Well, except for clicking on the button to Submit your completed form for Pending Review. DO NOT fill in anything else on the form – especially the SEO Section. That is for staff to deal with.

This is what your completed and submitted post will look like in the Pending list – notice the information, and how easy it will be to scan and see if anyone else has beat you to that shiny gem of a pus post?

Some last tidbits and such to keep in mind:

1. Choose Wisely.
Don’t just go nuts submitting anything with a speck of pus. Truly think about what you would get excited about seeing. Try to keep submissions around 2-3 when there isn’t a huge backlog. Yes, sometimes you may have a 4th video, but if you find 15 in one night, Bookmark the ones you don’t submit and revisit them. LOL – You should see how HUGE my Bookmark file is!!!!

2. No Nudity!
No breasts, frontal male or female genitalia, no full moon buttocks and especially no anal orifices! Kids do watch, although we also encourage parents to check around them when visiting the site.

3. Warnings
If you are submitting something you feel may disturb some viewers, be it graphic surgery or animal oriented pus videos, you can include a gently worded Warning at the top, before you write your intro. But if you aren’t sure, you know that I or Emil will add one if necessary.

4. Loudness, Small children crying, Foul language
You may want to consider adding a “Mute might be advised” somewhere in the introduction/description, but it is not required.

5. Checking the Archives
ANY video posted with an originating date after January 13, 2011 can be found by doing a PTZ search using either the Original Title or Original Poster User Name. I have tried to make sure that this information is ALWAYS included, to avoid repeating videos. Also, prior to March 2010 on YouTube, you can sometimes click on the little graph under the video player on YouTube, and this will bring up statistics, which will usually show if a video has been posted to popthatzit.com or not.
But this is not foolproof. Try your best!

6. Multiple Videos – Series or Same Poster and Same/Similar Subject
You can submit several videos in one form. Just list the video URL’s in order oldest to newest. Even if there are 10 in the series, it is okay. This is better than submitting each one seperately – unless the second or third video hasn’t been released yet – but in that case if you submitted the first one, you can submit the “follow-up” in a new form, or request that I update the original posting

7. And Final, I promise! When your video is not accepted… I put the reason in parentheses in the Title text Box before your chosen title, and then it will be in the Trash folder. Do not ever take anything personal, please! But I am here for questions, so don’t hesitate.

PHEW! Thank you all so much! I really hope this will suffice to get our current, newer miners/posters on the right track, plus allow others to begin posting – since it really is fun and pretty straightforward.

First off a big thank you for being patient! I wish things went smoother, but alas nothing is ever easy in my life! “is it like that for you?”

There is a lot involved when moving a site and getting it to run right when you have 1,000′s of people visiting. Could have done a smoother job? Probably, but there is always trial and error.

Anyways I wanted to put together a quick little tutorial on how to use the new site and where things are located and what is different and what we are still working on.

So… here we go… Quick overview of the new site.

The main focus of the new site was to reorganize, streamline, and make it a more community oriented type place. You can now be logged into the site and forums from one login. You know have your own profile, can add friends, send messages, tell us more about yourself etc via your profile. I wanted to be able to really let members get more involved with each other and the old site just didn’t do that .

Your Profile.. My Profile… etc…

At the top of the site you will see that Gray bar.”If you are a member and are logged in” This basically gives you options to do everything. Go ahead click around that puppy and see what happens. That is the only way you are going to learn. Here is my profile http://www.popthatzit.com/members/emilbus20/ what a handsome guy!

Now at someones profile you can see some options. Add as a friend, send message. You can check out their recent activity, friends, groups etc….

Change Avatar

This is an easy one. Of course you can do it from the gray bar, but also look to the top right and you will see Change Avatar. When you upload your new picture give it a minute then you will be able to crop it to size.

Recent Comments… Recent Members… Favorites..

If you look to the right you will see where your favorites are, recent comments and the most recent active members. It is a quick way to find out what is going on at the moment on Pop That Zit.” To add favorites just look at the bottom of a video and you will see the option there.Oh you will also see in the comment sections you can reply to specific comments and give them thumbs up or down… be nice!

Navigation Bar

At the top you see Home, Popology 101 etc… These are the main areas of the site and there will be more added in the near future. Top Pops are the top rated gushers we have on the site. So if you don’t see yours up there, get your friends together and start rating some posts!

Things not yet finished…. still tweaking etc…

There are a few things I am still working on.

#1 is the shout box/ chat functions. I had this really cool facebook style chat bar that was at the bottom of the site. It is really great, the only thing is that it takes up a lot of server resources, so as we speak I am looking for alternatives or how to make that one run better. If you have any ideas let me know.

#2 Searching and Categories – Still working on the best way to set this up. Its a bit more difficult then you would think, but I am working on it.
I want to set something cool up so you can search exactly what you are looking for. Feeling like some blackheads with a touch of pus? Search for it lol.

Hello popologists and new popheads!

With great sadness, I am staring at my Christmas tree – it’s just so beautiful, I don’t want to take it down! Well, beauty and a good dose of dragging my feet because there are just way too many ornaments!

There always seems to be a certain melancholy in the air during the first few weeks of the New Year. People are recovering from the embarrassing gluttony of food and presents experienced during the holiday season. The bills are starting to show up in our mailboxes, reminding us of how much we overspent… again! Then you have to go through about five checks at the check-out counter due to the fact you aren’t used to writing 2011. So many changes, yet too many things remain the same.

Everyone has such high hopes as the old year races to a close – “This year I *will* give up smoking,” or “I vow that I will lose 20 pounds before summer starts!” and the usual “In 2011, I am going to find and marry the man/woman of my dreams, move into a big mansion, drive a car worth more than 10 times my salary, and never have money problems again!” I stopped making that last type of resolution many years ago, but hey, a girl can dream, right? Yes, thousands of “Resolutions” broken by the sixth day of the year, or sadly, as in my case – about roughly 10 A.M. January 1st. Stress is the great executioner of my “Cease Smoking Willpower.”

Yet despite my severe lack of C.S.W., there are some bright points coming in 2011. Eventually we all wake up, with a feeling that the hopefulness and excitement has returned; that perhaps the slate has been cleaned and our lives can be remade with just a bit of patience and perseverance.

On that note, I’d like to make a special “Hello!” to the myriad of lurking popologists that have come forth recently to add some wonderful commentary plus a few new videos to PopThatZit! And of course, I have dusted off ten more great videos for everyone’s enjoyment.
