BigTull Presents: Dr. Janakiram’s
“INFRA ORBITAL NERVE SCHWANOMMA”

A Schwannoma is a benign nerve sheath tumor, which can be removed but may recur. Those who suffer from the genetic disorder known as neurofibromatosis are prone to developing these tumors, which are comprised of cells which commonly form the myelin sheath covering of periphreal nerves. Oh yeah, than you Wikipedia, again! (Schwannoma Wiki Link)

The video? Dr. J. is the best when it comes to bringing us the biggest, most amazing, interesting, informative and frankly – jaw-dropping, eye-popping ENT videos! And this one is definitely one to prove that statement, so hold on to your seats, and keep that so-called jaw floor pillow handy.

Here’s to a lifetime’s worth of more Dr. J. gems!! ENJOY!

  1. Great post, BigTull! It’s always an educational experience to behold one of Dr. J’s surgeries.

  2. WOW!!! What an awesome & unique post Big Tull! I’ve seen Schwannoma tumours in some strange places but that is the most amazing by far! They’re so slow to grow, I wonder how many years it took before the patient noticed anything? The amount of space it took up & the size/contents of the tumours & necrotic tissue was just incredible. I’m in awe of ENT surgeons-they’re not a ‘glamorous’ type of surgeon like a heart or transplant surgeon but still have amazing hands of skill. I’ll just pick my jaw off the ground now & swear I will never complain about my 2 FESS (Frontal endoscopic sinus surgery) ops again. Brilliant find Big Tull, thank you!

    1. Oh & big thanks to Dr. Janakiram for an amazing surgical experience. I’m so grateful these talented surgeons take the time to post these videos so we can see & learn something new.

  3. Generally I’m not a fan of ENT videos. This one captivated me. The narration helped me understand what was going on. Nice find BigTull. :)

  4. I too am in awe of a surgery that’s so completely “hidden” from view from the outside! It’s amazing that doctors seek out the hidden offending tissue and completely eradicate it! “Our Dr J” does it with such finesse and gentleness (at least it appears that way) and precision. What a generous physician to share with us. And, may I add, what a fine “miner” we at PTZ have in the person of Big Tull!
    I thank you, sir!

Once again an amazing video from Dr J!! Thanks BigTull for posting this Gem! It’s been a long time coming!

    2. That must have hurt the patient so badly! I’ve had sinus surgery before. I don’t even know what they did I just remember mine took forever to recover from, the pain was excruciating and my head had a permanent headache for at least 6 months after. The patient must have been relieved to have that out. To be able to breathe again from one’s nose is something many take advantage of and don’t even know it!

Another good one Big Tull, from Dr. J !!!!

I have learned about the inner nose cavaties over the years of watching Dr J’s videos, than I knew existed!!

He always explains as he does the surgery. It is very helpful to understand the procedure and what he is removing.

  11. Dr. J is THE BEST!! Respectful of his patients and, I swear, I breath so much easier after watching his videos. – The relief his patients must feel after the good doctor removes their obstructions must be tremendous.
