That was a long , strange trip….I feel a little light headed .
I have no idea what I just watched.
Woman had edometriosus (SP), and cysts on her right and left ovaries. The ‘chocolate’ was old blood.
My left ovary had the same things – but it’s size was larger than the uterus. Cyst burst and browned out the camera until it wall suctioned out.
Damn find job by the OB-GYN!!! Made for an enjoyable lunchtime!!!

No wonder endometriosis growths can be missed during surgery, you can barely make the difference between the good and the bad tissue. This lady will suffer for a few weeks but will probably feel so much better after!

Sadly, endomitriosis can be the cause of infertility among women; as can cystic ovaries. “Old blood”- guck. Even the term makes me shiver!

Endometriosis is so scary. My mom had a case of it so bad that she actually died on the operating table and they had to revive her. I hope this lady is doing better.
This is called a chocolate cyst. It is one of the results of endometriosis. I had one the size of a grapefruit on my right ovary. I ended up losing that ovary and fallopian tube. Endometriosis is a terrible disease. Mine started when I was sixteen and I had my first surgery when I was seventeen. To date I have had 9 laporoscopies and two laporotomies. Luckily, by having the surgeries, I was able to keep it under control to a certain extent. I’m not complaining though, many women with severe cases like mine have ended up getting complete historectomies. So, I count myself lucky.
