Did it say that this crater was left by the removal of a cyst? Often times large wounds like this are left following the removal of a growth.

or, to be more to the point; yes, Virginia, there is a genuine crater in that guys back.
I followed the link and the guy kinda explains what happened. Says that it was a cyst that was there for like 4 years. He bumped it one day and it got infected. Turned into a $10,000 zit.
More like “holy guacamole”, he comes with a ready made bowl in his back.

What a mess, but It healed up pretty good though.

I once had a wound care patient, a lady of about 400lbs, who had been bitten by a brown recluse spider just under her abdominal fold. Her wound looked just like this guys only about 4 times larger!! NO exageration!! It was awful and took well over a year to heal. I felt so bad for her!! Thankfully she DID heal up! She was one of the sweetest patients I have ever had.
