Dr J drains again !!
Obsessed posted this link in the Forum, so maybe some of us already have seen it. I didnt find this one, Obsessed did. I posted without asking so maybe a repost then. But why post on the Forum ??
Anyway…..Dr J is draining a strange kinda abscess here, behind a half ear of a child. Liquid Pus&Blood….a LOT !!

the abscess was probbly the least of this kids worries
i’m guessing she’s had a few infections before
I like that they had the sense to use a basin to catch the pus. I hate the ones where they let the pus run down on the table and get all over the patient.
I feel bad every time children are in distress.

You’re absolutely right Cystface. I’ve been laughed at all my life because of my weight and it is my Thyroid that is screwed up. Then the scars on my neck look like someone took a knife to me. (Well someone did, tee hee). I’m just glad this child is being taken care of. I commend you Dr. J. These people obviously need more dedicated doctors like you. I tip my hat to you. Hugs to you and your staff.
Wow, God bless that poor kid. Just when you think you’re having it rough, you see something like this and it makes you realize how lucky we all are.

That poor little one….at least she was in good hands, and hopefully felt a whole lot better after this was done.

I really feel bad for this child. On that note did any one else nlotice that on the left side of the abcess it looked like she had two finger growing out of it???? Is it just me who sees that????
the CSOM reference before the video started is Chronic serous otitis media.. a perforated tympanic membrane with persistent drainage from the middle ear…what complicated it and caused the abscess is that the child looks to be suffering from a birth defect of an incompletely formed ear…the pus had nowhere to drain…this poor kid probably has had problems with CSOM since birth because of the defect…glad the great Dr. J is handling the case..
Rolwhit, I feel like that too. My brother went there and says it’s pretty accurate. MOST people live in pretty sh*tty conditions. And poppinduck, that’s a deformed ear. Wish they were doing some plastics on this kid for that.

Christina, I know it is a deformed part of her ear. I was just wondering if any one else saw the finger thing. Just like when you stare at clouds and see bunnies or clowns.
