Ouch! Now THAT’S going to leave a mark!

I felt bad for her until she started taking “puffy lip” and “I’m so cute” pictures…. Then she drew on her leg??? Smh…

The original ER doc was an idiot. OBVIOUSLY, it’s MRSA. That wound should have been tended to correctly, she should have been put on massive antibiotics, spend the night in the hospital, and not let out until the MRSA was eradicated. I would sue. What ER doc doesn’t know MRSA when he sees it! People die from MRSA…she’s lucky she didn’t go necrotic.

Yikes! I’m still upset this beautiful girl didn’t get correct medical help. That’s CA-MRSA, very common amongst young people, highly contagious, and treatable with Vancomycin. My son had it when he was in college; it was spreading like wildfire.

Awww BlairBear she’s just 18. And apparently not super mature for her age! lol
Why did they squeeze fat out of her leg?
I agree sexandzitz… that ER doc almost cost that poor girl her leg and maybe her life!
Also, sorry to hear that magna… glad she made it!
Good post, ilovepus! Emil got around to it didn’t he? YAY!

Good post, cool chick. Too bad she had to go through that crap in the first place but I suspect she waited a few days too long to get it treated after that nasty layer of necrosis set in.

That poor thing =( That will leave a not so pretty scar.

PPM – yay! :) I still have one more to come, hope it isn’t too far away, I think it’s a pretty awesome one. :)

Rewatching this one still makes me feel eek. I agree it should not have been let to go to the lengths it did.

i couldn’t make it all the way through. i think the six surgeries i had last year are still in control of my psyche… i was fighting mrsa for a good 8 months of that time. it just isn’t “interesting” to me — it’s more “terrifying”!

Enjoyment from watching surface zits and cysts is one thing; watching MRSA devour a beautiful leg is another……don’t watch it. I also found it very disturbing. And congratulations on your successful triumph over staph. Bring on more juicy zits!!

This comment may be way off topic. I have to say that its a pity how many infections are acquired at health care facilities. There is no sense in it and they need to be held responsible.

  • Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

Here’s why health care facilities have such high infection rates: Sick people are there. Kinda goes with the territory.

I like how she documented this without a video camera. This is what I will do if anything cool/terrifying happens to me, since I lack a video recorder.

I battled MRSA a couple years ago and had a very bad deep infection on the back of my thigh… I went to the doc before it ever got to that level though (probably becuase I’m a bit of a hypochodriac). I enjoyed the vid though… especially when she started feeling better and doodled on herself. Lol I’ve been there.

So, just because she was mildly attractive, we are supposed to feel soooo bad for her? I am not saying, “Don’t feel bad for her” but are we so shallow that we feel worse for her because she is attractive? I would feel bad for anyone that has this infection.

    @ So_Cheeze: Do I smell a lil competition here ??

  • Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

mine was almost exactly like that except by rhe time i got myself to the hospital my arm was about 3 times the size it normally is and the infection had got into my bloodstream (septicaemia).after 2 weeks on a drip in hospital, and several months recuperation the hunk of missing flesh soon grew back.i can never donate blood, but the a&e doc said if i had waited another few days i would have had no arm and another week,i would have died.

We are genetically inclined to feel more empathy for beauty. And that’s not just men; women and men feel more open, sympathetic, and approving of other people who are physically attractive. Blame it on genetics. Our very idea of beauty (symmetry, specific ratio of height/weight, breast/waist/ thigh ratio, male height, etc. have evolved over millions of years…all for the survival of the species….Not abnormal or lacking in integrity; we’re Homo Sapiens and we have very specific ideas of what constitutes physical attractiveness…When we see beauty destroyed, we are far more apt to feel empathy. I’m a Cultural Anthropologist so I find human behavior fascinating and never pass judgment on whether behavior is “right” or “wrong”; it just is.

    Two words, “Absolutely NOT.”

  • Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

So- sexandzitz, do you believe this crap you write or what?? By your own admission you say you’re a “cultural anthropologist”, I suppose you had courses in Emergency Medicine and Wound Care in your Senior Year??? ER docs are NOT going to treat for MRSA unless their sure, and the day of injury there IS NO WAY TO TELL!!!! You can get a wound culture but the prelim. results won’t be in for 24 – 48hrs.; the final results are in in 72hrs.
I’m sure he/she indeed prescribed antibiotics, and did basic wound care (cleansing, debridment, sutures, antibiotics, dressings, tetanus, and follow-up apointment.
I do think she would have benefited from a plastic surgeon or wound specialist after the diagnosis was made…
As a Cultural Anthropoligist you say: “The original ER doc was an idiot. OBVIOUSLY, it’s MRSA. That wound should have been tended to correctly, she should have been put on massive antibiotics, spend the night in the hospital, and not let out until the MRSA was eradicated.” I guess you don’t mind passing judgement on other professions you obviously know nothing about??? By the way, “massive doses of antibiotics” are not necessarily the way to go, and overnight / 24 hrs. will not eradicate MRSA……… self-appointed medical experts are very annoying!! You’re such a tool….
Hey, does your wide-ranging expertise extend to aeronautics as well?? I want to seek your opinion on a recent plane crash and I’m sure you can enlighten us all…..

I luv this site and am on all the time though I dont actively participate much! I have seen just about every post and read a lot of yalls coments. Not calling anyone out in particular, but there seems to be a lot of jealous, hatefull, losers out there that have nothing better to do than to pick everyone apart for every little character flaw. This girl seemed like a very nice down to earth and fun loveing person. I knew many girls when I was that age that would not have dared showed pics that gross of them to the world. She seemed to take the best of it and take it in stride. She was not looking for anyones sympathy and just wanted to make a cool post of her wild experience. You people are hating on her just because she happens to be cute, instead of the usuall fat, nasty people that we get! Some of you need to get a life!

  • Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

That was HORRIFYING. I literally have tears in my eyes. I am going to go check my whole body for MRSA. BAD!

  • Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…. MRSA cannot be recognized by sight! It must be cultured!!

  • Thumb up 0 Thumb down 0

Nice until she did the bent over butt shot at the end. Classy.
