We have seen a few, perhaps more than a few, surgeries to remove cysts from the ovaries. Most are accomplished through minimally invasive techniques such as Laparoscopic surgery. This particular procedure which you are about to view involves the removal of a not too small, yet not gargantuan, left ovarian dermoid cyst. Now, why I like this one? Because the videographer took the time to edit in very useful indicators of which parts are which. I always find it hard to orient myself when watching any surgery, since I am not a doctor, it becomes really hard to distinguish a piece of bowel from a fallopian tube, or a large lump of fatty tissue from an actual important piece of a functional organ.
Unfortunately, I am disappointed they only give you a glimpse of the varied, gross, but fun contents of the dermoid cyst (I love it when they include the cyst dissection at the end – its like getting dessert after a long multi-course meal!), but the rest of the procedure is fascinating to watch, and I think I will have a better understanding of the next cystectomy I see online. Or on a video taken during my potential surgery – since I have a cyst of my very own it seems, snugly attached to my left ovary, 4 cm and growing! Would it be icky to ask if I can have it back in a jar, preserved and sealed? Isn’t possession 9/10ths of the law, as they say? lol. Maybe we can name it and make it the PTZ Mascot. “Dermy, the Ovarian Cyst” Uh-oh – I think I am making myself giggle to hard, I am about to pee myself. On that note…
ENJOY!

PTZ got a note from the creators of the 1st installment, “Kruse’s Eye!”… the cyst hath returned! It goes like this: “Thanks for posting our vid, we uploaded a second video for you viewing pleasure! It’s entitled “Kruse’s Eye 2″ on youtube. This time the *&%$ really hits the fan, literally!” Isn’t it nice when [...]

That was wonderful. Confused, errant growth like that hairy cyst inside a womb is like finding a communications satellite in a beauty salon.
Mission accomplished!
Beautiful and mesmerizing like all surgery. Love the typo “Bening” instead of “Benign”.
This is one of the neater surgeries I have seen where they are taking out a cyst on an ovary. I used to get blood filled cysts and those can hurt. I’m glad this one had no symptoms because it was large. Wonderful video, HS… and I have to ask… are you okay? LOL A bit longer description than you have done lately… don’t get me wrong I LOVE it but just sounding a bit different.
Oh… and excellent finds again, HS! We are not worthy!
There was a lil Hair…….
That was really cool. And great to see the healthy ovary under all that.
Cool. Does the affected ovary recovers its functionality after these procedures? just curious…
surgical procedures never stop fascinating me. Thats entertainment Halph!
Thank you so much for this one! It was amazing? Someone medical… isn’t a teratoma a tumor with hair, teeth, and a spinal cord? I had a friend who had one, and my mom (an anesthesiologist) says they happen all the time and aren’t nearly as exciting or as weird as the sound.
I mean, it was amazing !
Is that a normal way of removing one of those? It was HUGE.
Thanks HS
that is just brilliant how they do that-in such a delicate area too-without damaging anything around it
i still don’t get why dermoid cysts are hairy tho-how can you get hair growing in such places?
Cystic ovaries run in the women in my family, so I know the pain they can cause. The human body is so amazing, the ovary with the cyst looked like a skin balloon lol. Dr.s these days can do some amazing things, I bet that women can even have children after this surgery. I don’t see why some of u are confused as to how something like this can grow hair there…weren’t you ever told where babies come from? lol….I hope your surgery goes well Halph s.
@sebacious_bich – wonder what your family would be like if cystic ovaries ran in the MEN in your family?
