I have *loads* of difficulty with this post but am submitting it purely because (at the 3:20 mark) it shows the excision and expulsion of a chicken’s cyst. My problems with it? Hataw Pinoy — cockfighting. A cruel human activity. Also, more importantly to this specific video, there is no anesthesia provided to this sentient creature, which I often find horrifying. So… I know in advance that this won’t make anyone’s Hit Parade of Pus Videos. I just thought it was interesting. And if anyone speaks tagalog, maybe you can translate some of Dr. Teddy Tanchanko’s erudite observations.

Or not. Meh.

That felt so good to the chicken that a rooster crowed when it drained. All I know is that they are treating that chicken well. Giving it antibiotic and special diets and everything.

Omgosh… I can’t really tell if they are treating it well or not. The poor chicken flinched a few times and I wondered if it got a local. That cut was deep. But it acted like it was used to this sort of treatment. Makes you wonder if they get lots of cysts or skin problems! I hope they treat it well long after this.

Why was there clear liquid coming out? I do know birds’ cysts are different after watching that parrot’s eye cyst video. I did like seeing that yellow stuff come out.

Cock fighting is illegal int he united states, however it is not illegal in all countries. It is cruel and it is not something I condone, but the video shows the humane treatment of an animal.

Also birds do not do well with anethesia, local or otherwise. So it was probably just better for the bird to be treated as it was. I imagine the relief from the cyst was euphoric. I know there are some types of boils and cysts on humans that despite a local the pain is still intense and often the local is inieffective.

According to this doctor on the number 1 gamefowl related television program in the Philippines; the hen suffers from ascites. The word “ascites” is of Greek origin (askos) and means bag or sac. Ascites describes the condition of pathologic fluid collection within the abdominal cavity. This condition can also develop when intestinal fluids, bile, pancreatic juices, or bacteria invade or inflame the smooth, transparent membrane that lines the inside of the abdomen.

I have this cystic ovary condition (not the usual one but, a condition where the eggs in my left ovary fill with the normal monthly fluid and then retain it instead of letting it go when I pop out the lucky egg of the month – which causes all kinds of problems… ANYWAY). It is clear that this freaking chicken is getting better health care than I am. Also, the two times I have gone to the god awful free clinic for other cysts, I have never ever had anyone use anesthesia on any other cyst, before slicing open some rather painful, deep rotten pus pockets.

So, pluck and fry the thing already — It’s lived a very very good life, as far as health care goes.

does tagalog really have no word for ‘abdominal cavity’ or ‘before undergoing such surgery’,'the night before’-bizarre how he speaks a combination of lingos-nice excision tho fo sure

OMG what kind of fucked up, primitive people enjoy watching 2 animals fight? Cockfighters, dogfighters, bullfighters & all the other sick freaks like them deserve to be thrown in the ring & be torn apart by the very animals they force to fight. I find it HILARIOUS when animals turn on people like them, and when people get mauled by fighting dogs.

That poor bird was obviously in pain. I know how excruciating it is to have a cyst drained. I have a fluid filled cyst that I cannot afford to have removed, and last year it filled up so much & started to hurt so bad that I had to have it drained in the ER. Even WITH anesthesia, I still felt it. I can’t imagine the pain this poor chicken must have felt.

If you want a chicken dinner, wring it’s neck & be done with it. This is cruel.
