Is the other one (like part 5)? This is what happens when you don’t go to the hospital. My God that infection has spread!

this guy has severe cellulitis and is in danger of systemic infection since it’s in a lymph node. if he hasn’t already landed in the hosp on iv antibiotics then I hope he is alive. seriously. i have never seen anyone out of the hospital with that serious of an infection.

i quit watching pretty quickly — a not infrequent reaction when a visit to the doctor or er is clearly needed. the more they mash on that mass of cellulitis, the worse it is gonna get…

Ugh! These guys are Australian. I don’t understand why they haven’t gone to the hospital, we have a really good system over here and it’s not like they’d be trying to avoid the cost.

At this point, broad spectrum AntiBx are probably needed to combat that infection ASAP! I don’t think they realize how serious it is!

And, on the dinner table???? Still, it’s good stuff though!

unfortunately in the UK where they have government run health care, they can’t get in to see a doctor for “small” things like this. if i remember correctly, didn’t we have a post on here once where the guy said it was going to take 3 months to see a doc for check and drainage? I hate to use it as a platform for politics but contact your congressman and senator and urge them to vote against govt health care. I sure as hell don’t want to be like this poor sap laying on a table having a friend drain it for me because I have to wait 3 months to see a doctor.

so sorry, i didn’t see the post where someone anounced them as austrailian. so i have no reason for them then lol! if they are in the UK, there’s an excuse but not if ya’ll have a great system in aust. Sorry for the mix up. I tend to turn my volume WAY down on these things since the reactions tend to be over the top. I just caught an accent, didn’t concentrate on where it was from. Sorry for the confusion.

we have universal healthcare here in Canada and if I went to the doctor about something like this it would be taken care of right away. I could go to the doctor once a week if I wanted to.

Oh my goodness–are we going to get to see the DIY arm amputation next? Thank you for the posting but the images regarding the draining were upsetting. I hope we get a follow-up. That wounds needs medical attention.

Are there not ERs in places like that with socialist medical? I would think that would be a ER worthy problem.

Yeah there are ERs in Australia. We call them Emergency Departments (EDs) and if he IS in Aus (as opposed to an Aussie abroad) I’m really surprised he’s not there!

mmmhh… let me see.. i was born and raised in Italy where we have what some Americans call “socialist medicine”. Since i moved in the US i have been lucky enough to be able to afford what some other Americans call a “cadillac plan” with BCBS. Let me tell you, I’d take the European system any day. Healthcare USA is run by crooks (aka health ins cos) and a gov’t run system would do only good by putting some competitive pressure in the market. You guys just have no idea. All it takes is to brandish the “socialist medicine” flag and fuel the scare tactics and people drink the kool-aid … it’s quite sad to see first hand how easy is to fool the American public opinion nowadays.

Dude, go to the doc, get it taken care of, probably packed, then post the video when they pull the packing out. I’d say you need an anti-biotic!

We all seem to be in agreement that this fellow needs to be treated by a medical professional…before it’s too late (a very real possibility if he continues his current role on the movie screen–ok, the video screen). Is it impossible to INSIST upon being treated–soon–in countries where the National Health Care System is less-than-ideal? If a doctor/expert refuses to at least LOOK AT a case like this, then the sufferer should remove himself to a different provider at great speed, anyway! We shouldn’t have to demand basic medical help, but…sometimes we might be forced to do so!! I hope that this person is already much improved, and that any children in the vicinity of his “treatment,” a): did not see what was happening on their table (ack) or, b): learned a good lesson about the perils of not seeing a medical doctor! Fun is fun but…

Yes, I DO realize (first-hand) that the medical system in the U.S. leaves a lot of people without any real options. I am ashamed that we can’t seem to arrive at semi-simple, REAL-world solutions for ANY of the growing problems we have been facing for a looooong time–and I just don’t know what we can do to change that! I’ve been around long enough to have learned that if we want real change, it’s got to be incremental–and it must come from US–the true zit appreciation group (teehee)! We have to get our hands wet (ewww) and not be swatted away like annoying gnats (or pulled out like bot flies!). Okay…I apologise to you all for my way-too-long opinion on our SEEMING powerlessness. LET’S
