Jesus, What a circus of errors! they know what they’re doing in Cusco? Obviously not with our lovely little bot fly Halph! dig dig diggity dig huh!? Why didn’t they simply cut off it’s air supply, let the dude hang out in the trauma shock closet for a while, I’m sure that little tiny worm would have almost fell out of the hole. FAIL!

I agree, FAIL! But did you hear the doctor? I think his mates on the trip also had their own botfly friends, and the doctor says to patient upon patient seeing how tiny the bot was … “Don’t be jealous”! Apparently the reason the lump was larger was not because of the botfly being huge and ampped up on steroids, but because there was a lot of infection around the bot larvae. The infection may be the reason it never grew, in fact I think it may have been dead. I just don’t like this new trend of incising botflies out of people or animals. Either squeeze and gently pull, or kill it by cutting of the air supply and then gently pull it out. Then flush flush flush that hole!

Yep Halph, I do recall alot of bot slicing of late, not the best way to go. I will turn on the Vol. It’s puzzling, thinking of the mortality of a larvae in infected flesh. However, dead would absolutely explain it being so tiny..

I wonder why the camera person didn’t go to the other side of the cot and film from his buddy’s head… couldn’t really see anything going on…. sigh. I like pops so much better.

Good Lord! All that poking n prodding and sooo many other things that are just wrong in so many ways—and you get a friggen midget botfly?? WTF? Do they NOT know what tweezers are? Is it not bad to use scissors for fear of severing the ‘botfly’ and losing the rest of it into the great hole that was DUG?? no thank you. yikes

I don’t know… I always get a little uncomfortable whenever douchebags like these idiots in the video start pulling the whole “3rd world is a shitty place” garbage. While I agree that what we see in the video is not up to our North American standards, maybe these losers should volunteer their time to improve conditions there instead of trekking through the “Bolivian Amazon” cutting through bush with their machetes and then videoing the results.

I’m no doctor, but they should have sent out for a tweezer. I don’t know how that doctor thought those scissors would work, even though in the end it worked. “Shock Trauma” would be appropriate for the sign on the door, cause you are gonna get shocked and go through trauma in there, lol.

If I had a bot fly in somewere like my arm were I could keep an eye on it I think I’d let it turn into a fly to watck it come out but I’d have to ground it to a jar and say Whos your Daddy thats right I AM but wouldn’t it be cool watching a fly crawl out your arm and fly away.About the vid I think the Doc milked them for money cause all you got to do it put a peice of tape over it and smother it then tweezer it out no injections and cutting.

so sorry, thats not the whole bot fly, its been cut in half or less, look at the pulled guts hanging out of the one end.
didnt need sissors or scalpel. either pop it out or tweeze it out.
you can tell they havent done a lot of them before.
