I didn’t know what MOST of that was but I loved it nevertheless! Why does this stuff remind me of what is in cysts/abscesses/zits? I sure wish I had become a nurse all those years ago when I had the chance to go to school for it… sigh… oh well at least Emil has this for us to enjoy! Thanks for the post tgb!

Cuz it’s sebum. Most of it anyway.
Ear gunk and all the cystic contents etc… is really sebum.

the last little bit was a fungal infection (myco-). also, i think i caught a fleeting glimpse of a nubbin’.

WOW!! I guess I just never realized so much could go wrong within the ear. I, nor any family or friends, have ever had one minutes ear problems. Is it rare or have we all just been very lucky?

Looks less like a pick, and more like a pry-bar.

Dr. J. is awesome. I am so loving these ear videos, even when I don’t know exactly what is going on.

I like his videos– I like being able to see what it really looks like up in someone’s sinuses or into their ears. Pics in textbooks just aren’t the same. I don’t know most of the abbreviations, but TM is tympanic membrane (ear drum).

it always amazes me how these people can even hear with so much wax in their ears-after they leave, everyday noises must be deafening
