    Bicho de pe literally means “bug of foot.” These are little flea-like creatures that burrow and lay their eggs into the foot or toenail bed. What you see it the egg/larvae being dug out. It looks like a botfly but it isn’t. They would be more careful if it were a botfly. The callous grows around it because of the foreign thing being in there. Callous is just dead skin ya know.
