The next day, it had doubled in size! Needless to say, I called the vet right away and they told me to bring him right in. Rocky had this exact procedure done and had to be on antibiotics plus pain medicine. One of my 3 kittens had nicked him with a sharp claw and caused a major pus pocket. They wouldn't let me video even though I had my camera. Thanks for posting!

I was scratching my kitty, Rocky, under the chin – when I noticed a small lump. The next day, it had doubled in size! Some of the worst were drained similar to Pistol's Bob, except they used rubber bands. (This had to have been 15 years ago.) Now cat's aren't allowed to go outside, but sometimes they do anyway and come home with a nasty scratch.Good vid. That's definitely the biggest face abscess I've seen on a cat. I'm surprised it didn't just burst on it's own when it was smaller. (I've seen some do that on my own pets over the years.) And the chatter was funny too! 5 stars Halph! :)

I’ve had my share of kitties getting in to stupid fights. And always an abscess forms! I had to flush it with peroxide several times a day. Within a week he was all better.Cute kitty.

the conversation in the background is hilarious! – my cat Bob (RIP) had one similar to this but they had to leave two openings and gauze tied in a knot to keep it open at both ends. However, I have seen my dad drain many cat abscesses without sedation to very successful healing. Animals with abscesses just trusted my dad. He used a very similar technique. In fact some cats would just some to my dad for relief and other pets were brought to him by neighbors. Sometimes my dad would use a sharp rosebush thorn but he did have a syringe or two always in his tool box for cat puncture wounds. Thanks for the posting. My dad is in not in the best of health with a serious heart condition, so this video brought me really fond memories. Good job.

I don’t usually enjoy animal video’s. I like seeing professional people who care for the animal and not those who laugh and make fun of the animal. Also, thanks for the ample warning to those who may not be able to watch these types of videos. This is one of the best animal ones we have on here! 5 stars in my book!

Love it, Halph.
