Actually,my very first “Google search” I made on the internet was “Guinea worm” lol.
Taking a Guinea worm out of a body by myself would be a dream!(even tho I know it can take up to 5 days….
I’ve seen grown men (on vids!) cry while their worm was being taken care of!And they can be a couple meter long…

i’m thinkin’ “klown” is right and its hookworm, i checked out the link. no visable segments to be tapeworm. and they have these nasty blow up pics of the worms mouths. really, really, nasty looking things.

That worm looked so lost and vulnerable curled up outside its warm bloody pocket. I almost want Dreamworks to make a movie about a plucky little parasite fighting for survival in a cruel world that just doesn’t understand.
What about the smaller tapewom right at the edge of the incision on the right side? it’s pretty easy to see in the very beginning…

Kinda interesting! I think it looks like a parasite worm called a Loa Loa, which is long and thin and is often found in or near the eye. Don’t know more than that. Anyone else?

That was one of numerous round worms that inhabit humans. Not a tapeworm and not a guinea worm. Historical note… the famous early astronomer, Johanne Kepler, was supposed to have one in his eye and it could be seen to swim across the eye.

I’d like to know how they even discovered that there was a parasite in the eyelid in the first place? Perhaps they felt it “wiggling” around?
Ha,Ha, H.S. It looks just like an asian noodle. That was funny. I think that black string was laid across the eyelid so that they could press the eyelid down and keep the worm in one location and stop it from crawling up into the eyelid any further. Almost like milking the worm to the edge. I may be wrong about this but, thats what it looks like to me. I would crap myself if I had one of those in my eye. Worms or any living creature for that matter would send me over the edge if I found it in or on me. I have to say that was interesting. Wonder what kind of little creature it is?
