Actually bladder and kidney stones are made of either uric acid crystals or calcium. THey are called kidney stones when 1st made in the kidneys….then they may travel down the ureters and wind up in bladder, equalling the bladder stones. Trust me,,,,,been there, done that!

This is a dog bladder, and what the veterinarian is removing is “bladder stones” or uroliths. In dogs, it is common to have bladder stones and fairly rare to have kidney stones. I personally have seen stones removed from dogs that are as large as your fist.

@Twisted Cyster: Well, I’ll grant that it does pop out the way they were removed. I just don’t find these vids or the nasal surgery ones as really “qualifying”, and the only way I judge that is based on my own personal reaction to it. Popping a zit gives me a sense of satisfaction that doing a cystotomy, or flushing a frontal sinus, does not. Oh well…
