~ ~ UPDATE ~ ~ Friday, 05-11-2012: Nana is still in the hospital. She has had 5 units of blood and is on 4 different antibiotics. She had gone septic, and the hematoma isn’t going down so she is most likely going to need surgery to remove it before she can get any better. Her [...]

“Charlotte’s Story” The worst set of plantar warts I’ve ever seen. Video is first of a series (about 20 parts). It’s from a British TV show called “Embarrassing Bodies.” Educational AND gross. This poor kid actually has part of her immune system missing! She has to have a bone marrow transplant to permanently fix the [...]

EEEEEEEWWWWW!!!!! OMFG that was SERIOUSLY the most disgusting thing I have EVER seen on here! And why the hell did that guy not wear gloves…he is pushing pus out of a DOG’S ASS!!!! If that was me,I’d be wearing 3 pairs of gloves! God…after watching this I need some waterless hand sanitizer for my brain!
Aww..Poor doggie : (
is that really pus or just normal drainage for a dog?
It’s not pus, but that discharge smells horrible– like rotting flesh and feces.
Go zit yourself, that is the most vial thing I have ever seen and I usually like pus etc. Wow, I will never ever touch a dog again… This made me gag and I am not someone with a weak stomach.
No wonder dogs rub their butts on rugs.
My understanding (I’m a cat person myself) is that dogs’ anal glands usually empty as they void their bowels. Maybe this dog had an infection or obstruction that had to be handled by a vet. Any dog owners out there?
I have two cats and their anal glands for some reason don’t express themselves properly. Everytime we go to the vet, they need to be expressed. It’s very unusual, but for some reason, they do it. Once, I have had my cat on my LAP during a scary movie and I jumped up startled and she left me with anal gland juice on my pants. It was horrific…This happened another time just after and we brought her to the vet…They were infected…The smell…ugh just ugh.
This is common in labs and retreivers. My lab has to have his drained about once a year, and my mothers retriever has hers drained quite often as well. It is gross, but just imagine the pain your dog is in when you dont have it taken care of. It is a fact of life for a lot of dog owners, unfortunately.
Either the dog is not getting enough roughage in his diet or he has a serious problem. Either way cat or dog do not try this at home, if you squeeze the stuff up inside the animal it will get an infection and could die. Get thee to a vet.
Paying a professional to do….THAT….. is money well spent. I’d charge 10,000 euro a minute to do that.
When I saw this I just had to post it for you all! I myself have two dog’s, a Great Dane and Lab/Retrevier mix that need to have their glands drained from time to time. It is VERY common for all types of dog’s to need this done and often enough that my Vet instructed me how to do it myself correctly! (AND WHILE WEARING GLOVES! What the hell was this guy thinking?!?!? Ha!) BUT, what is coming out of this poor dog’s ass is NOT NORMAL AT ALL! There must be a MASSIVE INFECTION going on!! A normal dog’s anal gland will secrete a minimal amount of brown LIQUID, not pus! And yes, the smell is horrible like festering death! Ugh!
I take me dog to the vet to have this done. I don’t squeeze dogs asses.
Sure, it’s gross to have to do but I love my dog’s and will do anything to insure thier health and happiness! True, I don’t enjoy ” squeezing my dog’s asses” but it need’s to be done! It’s all part of being a responsible pet owner! I could run them to the Vet once a month to have it done but it’s really not that big of a deal since a normal drainage look’s NOTHING like the video of this dog! One or two second’s of sqeezing is not worth the time or expense of taking my dog’s to the Vet at all!
P.S. Obviously wearing gloves is a MUST but i also highly recommend doing it outside!
This should have been a scene from “Marley and Me”. It’s common with retrievers. You notice it more if you keep them indoors.
Nice squeeeeze, though … sorry for the dog;s ass.
i can’t wait to squeeze harvey’s bum…. he is my dog btw
ok i know what kind of smell dog ass juice makes. Think of concentrated essential oils of dog crap. that must have stunk so bad
Just one question… why would you not wear gloves when doing this?

WHERE. ARE. THE. GLOVES?!
Gloves? Hell, by the look of what’s coming out of that poor dog’s ass, that dude should have been wearing a HAZMAT suit! Hahahahaha!
Have your dogs anal glands checked!! One time our chihuahua had her anal gland explode!! NOT COOL!! Poor dog, we had, had alot of dogs before her and never knew this could happen YUCK!!

OK PEOPLE…I have had this problem with my dog and some friends dogs. Let me inform you on why they need to be done…when an animal has normal functioning glands the hole that the liquid come out of is faceing out.. the hole on animals that have problems face each other, so after the animal takes a poop the contraction they do to empty them does not work. It builds up and can leak out or get infected. yes it is gross doing it your self but its free and the vet isnt. some animals need it done 4-6 times a year.
i had 2 dogs, a purebred beagle and a mixed pit bull – heinz 57.
i noticed them rubbing their butts on the grass and carpets once in a while
the next time we went to the vets i asked about it, i was told some dogs gland passages block up and need to expressed manually. the vet showed me and the wife how to do it ourselfs. well let me tell you the odor was unbelieveable, gagged me and blew me completely out of the office.
i took them to the vets whenever they needed it done. MAN THAT SMELL.
It’s actually quite painful for dogs. One of my pugs had been sitting on the floor and spinning in a circle. At first we thought she was just being silly but we took her to the vet b/c she kept doing it more and more and we thought it might be some kind of parasite (even though she had all her vaccinations up to date) so when the doctor told us her anal glands had not been draining naturally and had to be “milked” in the office then in a couple of days go in surgically to fix whatever was causing the gland blockage. I was not there when she had to be drained but my mom took her as a favor and came back horrified and white as a sheet, She couldn’t get over how much they drained and the smell of what came out.
Dogs anal glands are supposed to drain naturally but for some dogs it just doesn’t happen.
