I would like to think I know my way around medical terms, procedures, and diseases pretty well, but I am stumped. Can someone explain what the is going on with him. No way that started as a boil, right?
Well I found this site cause I’m the doc from ‘hairy sebaceous cyst’ posted here. As for this guy. The original wound is either self inflicted or residual from a chest tube, where they poke a hole through the skin and muscles of the chest wall into the potential space surrounding the lung. If it was a CT they did it to drain the empyema (pus filling the cavity the lung sits in) he clearly has or else he developed one after cutting himself.
The second cut was through a soft tissue infection which is apparently spread from this guys infected ‘blowhole’ or direct spread from the empyema. It certainly didnt need to be cut again (again all the way into chest cavity). It needs a chest tube under suction with protein solvents and antibiotics instilled into the space around the lungs with systemic antibiotics for the spreading cellulitis. For $3.99 he bought himself a hospitilization or death. He’s either got mental issues or brain cell deficiency, or both. The blowhole effect is from increased thoracic pressure squirting the air and pus that have collected around his ever decreasingly functional left lung.

You know how he says at the beginning that no one, including doctors have ever seen something like his “blowhole” before? Is what he has very common and have you ever seen anything like it before? Just wondering.

Its not by any means common, most people who get it fixed rather than film it online. I have seen it, its what any empyema with a sucking chest wound would do.
Dear “docdoc”, thanks for answering my question. Maybe you could become the “Site Doctor”. I’m pretty sure it’s a no pay, thankless job, but I am just as sure that there are many people like me that would rather have questions answered as accurately as possible considering the footage and information you are given by the people who have the problems. I know you must be very busy, but it would be great if from time to time you could help us out with special cases such as “Human Blowhole”. Just a thought. Either way, thank you.

This guy has a new Youtube. He said his old account with the original “Blowhole” videos was banned. He apparently had surgery to fix that horrible infection and it seems he is going to be okay. I am posting the link to his account, because the new videos aren’t really relevant to this site other than the fact that I know people were concerned if he was okay.

dude, did you have surgery? have you had a culture swab done on the wound you have now? It looks to me like you have MRSA, when they did your surgery it looks like they gave you a hospital acquired infection maybe?? If so you should contact a lawyer. You could walk away with a lot of money at the very least….

I thought I was pretty hard–to be able to view all these various kinds of videos, and NOT be grossed out….but THIS one, really made me drop my popcorn! Thanks to “Bust my buttons” for the link to see the inevitable (lucky) ending of this….or beginning of the end of this, since it looks like he has a few months of healing ahead of him. Terrible size to let an infection get to before you seek help. (to say nothing of the stupidity of cutting yourself so mercilessly) Hope he makes it
