actually this is a tapeworm parasite. it looks to me like a hydatid cyst that is found most often in the brain. You want to be careful not to break it or the parasite will get out. Yukky but interesting.

Thanks for posting it. I can’t stop blinking. I looked it up and pimplepoppinmama is right, it’s a tapeworm larvae. It was cool how the pressure of the eyeball just pushed it right out. ACK and ouch (and blink blink)

Pimplepoppinmama….This is NOT a tapeworm. It’s simply a oily cyst in the conjunctival. If it was a hydatid cyst they would not use blunt tools on it, they would use water pressure to pop it out. It was ruptured, *you seent he pus*
. If it was what you believe it is, and we seen it rupture, then this poor individual would have the potential to grow another cyst for each protoscolex ( “baby worm”) that the original cyst had. This just looks to be a regular oily cyst like a sty or chalazion.
Ive seen that surgery done on the inside of the eyelid before better never the eyeball.. I wonder how the person knew it was there? it didn’t look like it was making a lump in the eye, it was in too deep. It must have hurt or been causing problems

The definition of cysticercus is: “a tapeworm larva that consists of a fluid-filled sac containing an invaginated scolex and is situated in the tissues of an intermediate host.”
The actual title of this vid is ‘Conjunctival Cysticercus removed with Fugo blade.’ They were very careful not to break it. A worm larva in your eye, ACK!!!!!!

Bootsie, it’s not a cyst. Pimplepoppinmama, Letme, and I all went and looked it up and it’s a tapeworm larvae. It may look like an oily cyst, but it’s not.
