ugh that was plain nasty. I saw a baby deer this weekend. It had a huge baseball size lump on its leg. I wonder what magical fluid was in there. Animals get some nasty infections!
The best part is the very end where that whole digusting BUCKET OF PUS gets tipped over. GAG!

They didn’t let it get big for their own amusement, they had to let it come to a head before they could lance it. (By the way, the abcess was located by the cow’s FRONT leg. Not by her udder.)

Jeez! I’m not sure even I could stand that nasty job. Think how much better that must have felt to the cow to have all that pressure relieved. Also enjoyed the cow urinating, just to add to the mess on the floor…..

oh wow…this was an awesome video. and i’m sure they weren’t purposely waiting for the abscess to get gigantic, rosy. i’m sick of people who assume that because an animal has an abscess that the owner’s must be extremely cruel and support/own puppy mills. so please if you’re going to comment please don’t assume the worst. geesh
mejnicho–same thing happened to me! My OB said, “it’s perfectly fine to give her that milk.” I thought he was out of his mind. I was pumping my milk at the time, so I tossed it completely until the infection was cleared; plus I didn’t want her getting the antibiotics in her system. I think I stopped pumping shortly thereafter and got her on formula. I don’t drink milk either, Stormy48, and now I want to put my husband and daughter on rice or soy milk! Yikes!
That was hilarious at the end. It’s like all hell broke loose. That giant chunk she pulled out of the pouch was DISGUSTING.

I live next to a horse ranch, and apparently, these types of abcesses are quite common in farm animals. Some are caused by fly bites, in connection with rolling around in septic mud. I had the privilege of watching our neighbor lance an abcess on one of his horses, and the stench was absolutely wretched. He wasn’t a complete turnip, and wore surgical gloves to drain the abcess I watched, sticking his finger right into the cut. It made my day
Excuse me, everyone–I can’t resist (but never? again)! To PusLuvr1967: You and “Pus Udder” should hook up. He has certain cow-like properties, and his reservoir seems to be growing. Soon he may have the same amount as in the bucket–except you’ll be the bucket! Perfect? Best of all, you can have your own buddy to send comments to…not everyone else.
the person who cut open this thing is gross i would have worn gloves. That video was nuts though i can only imagine the size of the whole that thing made. i feel bad for the cow though.
